Sodalite is a sodium aluminum silicate, a deep-blue mineral with characteristic white veining, often mistaken for Lapis but more uniform in texture. Major sources include Brazil, Namibia and Canada. It is widely used for carvings, cabochons, spheres and collectible pieces.
